Paracord wrapped Khuk handle

This is an HI 16.5" WWII made by Kumar with a buffalo horn handle.

It's a beautifully constructed and perfectly tempered blade, however the horn handle didn't always give the best grip under sweaty conditions and I wanted a lanyard.

The handle is now wrapped with olive drab military parachute cord. There is one layer of paracord wrap. It's rather comfortable in my hand when using the blade.

The paracord lanyard has a fastex cordlock on it. I usually make my knife lanyards this way because unless I'm using it and have the cordlock down further on the paracord, the open cord ends don't catch on passing bush and stuff the way a regular, tied lanyard loop does.

You must wear big mittens. I wrapped my AK Bowie, but it doesn't do the big guy justice. He needs some nice wood.

Good idea. I have a chainpuri with a very slender handle and I've been toying with different ideas of how to "beef" it up. I will give this a try and report back!

i have found the best handle cover to be a bycycle handlebar grip which you can buy from kmart - walmart ect for around 3-5 bucks.
the one you want is a realy stretchy black rubbery gel type that can be stretched over the khuk handle realy tight and snug, and the grip is tremendous even if you had oil on your hands,gives fantastic control.
there are many types of bike hand grips so carefull which one you get,as i said you need one that is black+gel type rubber with a bit of stretch.you will need to pop a bit of oil on your khuk handle to assist in putting the handle cover on.LEAVE THE KHUK IN ITS SCABBARD WHILE DOING THIS SO NO NASTY CUTS IF YOU SLIP.beleave me once you have tried this handle grip you will be impressed. regards kendo

That's a nice wrap mrostov. And I like Kendo's idea too, I can see that would be comfy. I want to try an Agrip on a khuk. It is a pistol grip covering that looks like velvet. It sounds silly but is very comfy, and very secure on a pistol. Not affected by getting wet.Agrip by Brooks Tactical
