Where can I get this stuff?

Would my local Hobby Town have some for a good price?

EDIT: I don't want to order, btw.

Any military surplus shop will have it, maybe even some sporting goods places. I've never bought any but I've seen it at various places.

Hmmm... don't know of any close-by military surplus places, but plenty of sporting goods stores around here.

Be careful that they don't sell you "sportsman cord," packed and represented as true mil spec 550 paracord.

I'll remember that :)

I may be able to go to a local hobby place, but I don't know if they'll have it... might just have to order from 1sks (black, green or red with a silver knife?).

If you can't find true 550 para cord try a store that sells rock climbing/rapelling supplies. They'll have prusik cord that is actually stronger and more abrasion resistant than para cord.

I get mine here: http://www.geocities.com/hppycam/newparachutecord.html

They have bunches of different colors and you can buy a 100' hank or a 1000' roll of it. Great guys, all military.

Your link looks pretty good Galloglas, I wouldn't want to do check or money order though... I think my brother has paypal though.

I'm thinking black cord... I love black and silver together, and black is very simple and goes well with a lot of things...

I have to compare prices on 1sks though... see if for shipping costs I could get 2 different colors :)

EDIT: $10 for shipping from 1sks! For two 50 ft things of paracord... wow.

I get mine at CountyComm too, but I want to get a 1000+ foot spool. Anyone know where true 550 cord can be obtained in spools?
