So I was wondering where you would recommend I get some paracord for an Izula. I am a little confused with the diameters and what is a knock off and such. Any help would be great.

Thanks,
Alex

your have 650 cord which has 4 strands and a weight rating of 400 lbs....then you have 550 which has 7 strands and is rated at 550 lbs.....of coarse the 550 costs a little more....you can get paracord from multiple online sites or just run down to the local gi surplus most of them carry it.

County Comm
But be careful you will end up with a bunch of other things you "NEED" once you're on that site :p

County Comm offers a great selection of Paracord and Paracord products.

(seems as though they are under construction at the moment)
I have bought from them and received my order in 3 days :)

I prefer 550 paracord, it is very standard, and very strong. If you are not concerned about strength there are some thinner cords as well.

Good Luck

I also would try the 550. I ordered mine from supplycaptain.com with no hiccups.

I also recall hearing of a 9-strand paracord, maybe even an 11-strand, all the same just a higher tensile strength. (hope thats the correct term! :)

I get mine at supplycaptain.com as well no hitches at all.

I've ordered from them and received my order the next morning, plain old priority USPS shipping. It probably helps that i live borderline Sunnyvale/Santa Clara, whilst they're located in Santa Clara :D:D:D

You can get 300' for around $18 if you look. Specify 550 paracord. Check out the regular discount sporting goods stores on the web.

Supply captian is where I get all mine. Its top qualitly and fast service w/ no propblemo's.

I always get mine at my local camping/outdoors store. Can't beat 100' for $7, no waiting and shipping costs.

Supply captains paracord seems okay, but it stretches quite a lot when you actually put a good amount of weight on it. Im not sure how much good paracord is supposed to stretch, but with about 450 lbs on the cord, supply captains stuff stretched over 2.5 ft, not sure how long the cord was, i think it was about 12 ft or so. If you just use it to wrap your stuff though it shouldnt be a problem.

I noticed mine has stretched some, but i thought that was one of the properties of paracord?

Low price, great selection, and super fast shipping. My order always ships the same day I order it and gets to me in three days! Good folks.

Seems a little excessive though. My friends and I were testing it by tying it to a 2x4. Im 5' 9 and so are my friends. The 2x4 was up to our butt before we sat down, but after we sat down we were just a few inches away from touching the floor. Im not saying its bad cord, I just think this is something to consider when buying cord.
