Paracordist's how to tie your shoes and paracord laces so they don't come untied

I wear hiking boots most of the time and they always come undone. I usually tie a double knot in them. Problem is at airport security
I always have difficulty untying the double knot. This will be my new boot knot starting tomorrow morning. Thanks for the video.

I've been using that method for about three years now. As secure as a double knot, but you can still untie it with a firm tug.

Thank you! I have been tying a double not all these years. This is something I will pass on to friends.

Seriously--once you start using this method you'll never go back. That one extra turn of the loop is all it takes.:thumbup:

I'll join the chorus, this method is easy and works well. Been doing it for a while now, never comes undone in my experience.

I've been tucking my laces for years now. It's worked so far. lol. Gotta' give this a shot though.

Grrrr!
Ive tried this 20 times and still no luck!
I must be missing something.

It is a regular shoe-tying bow knot, but give one side an extra turn before you tighten the bow. You can also hook the two bows over the top two eyes to keep them from snagging on brush.

This knot works great for securing bundles as well. It's as good as a slipped constrictor in my experience. And for shoes, I've found it is more reliable and much easier to untie than the doubled granny knot that I was taught as a kid.

The only catch for me is if I go to untie it too quickly, one of the tag ends sometimes gets caught up in the nearest loop, and it doesn't come apart as easily. Other than that, it's a perfect knot, imo.

If it helps, I tie it a little different from the video. I make the first loop/bight and hold it in my left hand, then go around and through with the right pointer finger. It feels more fluid and natural for me this way.

(I'm right handed)

I use a square knot and tuck the ends of the laces into my boots.. These are held in place by the blousing straps of my duty uniform also...

tried it this weekend on my hike and worked well. not once did it un-tie (it usually comes un-done on me twice a day in my normal way). thanks for posting!
