I got the 336 today and it's every bit as nice and works just as flawlessly as the 337. The gray/black Micarta is very handsome in my opinion.

Very nice Plum, is the 336 a little smaller or is it just me? I'm guessing its me cause the blades look about the same but the handles look shorter which I know cant be.

They are exactly the same, it may be just the way they are arrainged in the picture that makes it look shorter.

I had to figger but I kept looking at the top one and the 337 looked big so had to ask.

Do any retailers have these on the shelves yet? I'm sure only high end stores will have them. I'd really like to handle one prior to purchasing. I've treated my kids to assisted openers, but I don't have one yet. The paradigm may be the one for me!

Well, I just tried a Tempest in one hand and the Pro in the other. I can't tell if there's any difference at all, but then my eyes haven't been calibrated in some time. Honestly though, if one is faster or slower to open, I can't tell.

I've found some online dealers that say they have the Avid in stock, but haven't found any yet that have the Pro. They are still all pre-orders, at least at the places that I've checked.

Brick and mortar stores? I don't know about them, there just aren't any in my area.

Both of mine came the same Ebay seller and they are the only one's I've seen listed there.

I went ahead and ordered a Paradigm Avid from Knifecenter tonight. I was impressed with the 13C26 on my Vantage and wanted to try it again. Dave has convinced me that the new lock system and the assist is most definetely worth a try. I'll add my thoughts on it when it gets here.

Dave does your Avid's have issues with its scale around the shield like the Pro?

The Avid's shield inletting is perfect, so no issue there and honestly, the issue on the Pro shows up much more in the photo than in real life. I didn't even see it until I noticed it in the picture. I'm sure it will have more flaws than that after a few days of carrying and using it.

Thanks for the pics, Dave. Do you find that the AO gives a solid 'thwack'?

Just so I could be like Flatlander, I also ordered the Paradigm Avid tonight. I bet he will be pulling for the Colts on Sunday just so he can be like me!

LOL Tony!! I'm a huge Payton Manning fan but that's because I was huge Archie fan for his entire career. Ole Miss thing. Anyway, I'm afraid I'm pulling for:

Well Flatlander, it looks like a storm is going to hit the gulf coast. Hopefully it doesn't delay the game or even screw up New Orleans too badly.

Thought I saw them at New Graham for arounf $94.

Hey Flat, i'm right there with ya on the Saints. Of course being from TN and placing more pull with the Vols then the Titans am a big Payton myself. But having lived in New Orleans gotta pull for the Saints (Archies good people too).

And to stay on topic with the Paradigm I'll be doing an order for both versions after seeing the pics and hearing all the comments on it.
