Paradigm discontinued

I am totally guessing, but as an assist or auto, it's a lower margin knife with higher QC needs, and is sellable in a fewer markets. It's also of an aesthetic that isn't really popular right now. They gave it a shot, but it doesn't scream "Buck" besides the logo, and I'm not sure who it's for. So some combo of those factors is probably why they are moving on to something else. I'd also bet that the market isn't great right now for knives in that category, the Auto market is very limited and has massive competition. They look just okay, but that's a steep price for "maybe?".

I could be totally wrong, but that's my guess.

I have one of the auto versions and at its price point, the knife is underwhelming.

There's nothing wrong with it from a fit/finish point of view, but there's nothing about it that makes it stand out from the competition.

The bolster release (the reason I bought it) is not smooth and it's not satisfying to use.
IMO , these are probably the reasons it doesn't sell well and I'm a big Buck fan.

You may get a better answer here.

I had a Paradigm auto, and thought it was a "decent" knife...
But the bolster lock action seemed kind of "funky".

I'd guess sales low, line use is high for margins and volume generated. most times something gets cut off, its due to costs of it, asset usage, and sales and volume of it. in the end the margins dont meet the plan. only Buck knows why though.....

this isn't the first time the paradigm has been discontinued......
