Does anyone know the proper process for using parafin on your leather sheaths for water proofing?

Welcome, Tracy. EB beat me to it. The sheath-making forum at KF is moderated by master leathercrafter Sandy Morrissey. Lots of great info there and lots of people willing to answer questions and share their knowledge.

I don't know about paraffin, but I use SnowSeal on most of my leather stuff -- boots, packstraps, sheathes. Rub it on and heat with a blow drier until it melts in. Works great!

Thank You! Yes, EB was kind enough to point me in the right direction. I have so many questions. I appreciate everyone sharing their knowledge with me. What books would you suggest for general knowledge? I do know about knife making materials, and do have extensive background in metals, so I think I have that covered pretty well. I am looking for how to know what the best knives are, what are the most rare, and what are the most popular, and oh, I could go on forever, but I will try and use some self-control

Thanks again!
