I just ordered one of the etched pearl handled Cobras from MJ&S. I bought it because it looks absolutely beautiful. I'm ashamed to admit it, but thats the only reason I ordered it. Can someone tell me about the quality of this knife ? What would you compare it to ? If you own one, would love to hear your personal opinion as well. Thanks

All the knives in the world go round and round, round and round, round and round...DAMN, one of them took my wallet !!! :)

DN,

Funny you should mention this.

I'm seriously looking into the Paragon line, and the Cobra is one of the knives that I really look at. Beautiful knife. You didn't happen to get the pearl-handled one with the nude etching, did you? lol....

About quality, I'm pretty sure they're among the best up there, but since I don't have one myself (yet), it's hard to comment as of now. I do hope some other Paragon owners there can add to this thread, as it also piqued my curiosity.

I've had one of the Paragon Cobra's for a couple weeks now. I haven't been carrying or using it because of the size, it rides too high in the pocket to be inconspicuous. I have been playing with it a lot, it opens very fast and locks up nice and tight. The reason I bought it was because I was so impressed with the mini-cobra with the Corby ground blade. That one I do carry occasionally and it is one fine mini. My only complaint with both Cobra's is that they both came with a sharpening burr on the back side of the blade. On the big one I'm not going to worry about it because it's more for looks right now but the mini took some work to get a cutting edge.
They both have stayed free of any blade play but the mini needed a bit of adjustment when I first got it.
The big Cobra looks real good, and I did get the nude, it was the one up for sale and I like pearl. I don't doubt that it will be a very good user if I decide to do that, just need to take the burr off the back side of the blade. The ATS-34 takes a while with a sharpmaker but I'm not in a big hurry for much anyway.
Hope this helps, if you like pearl mine has some nice fire to it

I bot a large Cobra #315 last year and am quite happy with it. Lock up is tight with no wobble my only complaint is the clip placement. It rides much to high.

Dannyc: Yep, I got the pearl handle with the nude etching. Can't wait till it gets here. Mark says that the pictures I have probably arent doing it justice

If this knife feels as good as everyone says, I might have to get another for daily carry.

As soon as I get the knife, pictures will be posted.

Dave3/Strider: Do you see any way a customer maker could adjust the clip for it to ride lower in the pocket ?

I'm looking at it right now and the clip is placed about a half inch under the pivot pin so there is plenty of room to drill new holes higher up.
