Does anyone know what has happened to Paragon's website? I'm in the market for a heat treating furnace and was considering one of Paragon's but have been unable to accesss their website for weeks now.

Are they still in business? Does anyone here have one of these furnaces and can you vouch for them?

Thanks in advance for the help!

I purchased the small knife kiln from paragon two ywars ago. It has the 6 progam controller. Ive replaced the element once. It has been a first rate kiln. Best part was it was under 1000 delivered.

Galloglas,
I have a KM14D that I have used for 15 years and a KM9D that I have been using for 7 years. I've replaced the element in the 14D once and still have the original in the KM9D.
I don't know about their website, though.

The Paragon Website www.paragonweb.com
Phone, 800-876-4328. they make a good outfit, I have been using mine for years and never a hitch. One of my wisest purchases! They are good folks to deal with.

Paragon makes a very solid furnace. I'd definitely recommend getting the HT (high temp) version, as several of the new steels require temperatures over 2000F, and, even at lower temps, you're going to get a faster heat up if you have the hi-temp capability.

I appreciate you gentlemen taking the time to give me your insight. I am *really* nuts about Paragon's furnaces and will have one as soon as I raise the cash.

Still, I wonder why the website is unavailable?

As long as I am asking for advice, what about Sherline tabletop mills? In the literature I have they look pretty fine but I have seen other vertical mills in some of the knifemaker supply catalogs that are cheaper and look pretty good as well. What things should I look for in a mill to make folders and do general machine work?

Thanks again for the help,
Brian
