Just picked this up off ebay for a song. I mean pretty darn cheap. I have owned a few of these over the years and none have disappointed me in any way. This one doesn't either. This is nib with the nice fancy Paragon box. ATS34 blade, pe, with the black alum. handles. Very comfortable to hold and the thumb studs and handle allow for the use of heavy winter gloves which is nice.
Did a quick sharpening on my Lansky from coarse to med., easy to follow recurved edge and voila this thing will just about cut free standing arm hair it is that sharp. Lock up is dead nuts and the blade is well centered. The only gripe I have ever had with these knives is that the liner is seriously serrated where you disengage it with your thumb and when squeezing the knife in a death grip it tends to serrate the pad on your index finger. Not to the point of bleeding but it is plenty sharp. Now when I talked to Randall King about this from the first one I owned several years ago, he said that it is like that for positive purchase and for use with heavy gloves so there is no guessing in the dark or inside of anything which way the blade is. Hey beats me but I'll knock it down some with a stone later.
As stated the lock up is dead nuts perfect and opens with a fine kerchunk when locking up. It carries very comfortably in the pocket too as the alum. handle slabs are nice and rounded but the oblong cuts in the handles make it easy to grip and maintain a grip. Anyways I like it and will order another I think for the price. keepem sharp and Merry Xmas mofo's
PS just bought another. Unreal price on these. American made to boot!
