After taking my sweet time on buying a new knife, doing my research, watching youtube till i became youblue in the face, i finally bought a paramilitary 2 based on the advise from several blade forum members. Well I need to thank you all because this knife is amazing! Its light, its comfortable, its legal in my state! So now that I know you guys know what your talking about, whats the next blade I should purchase? Thanks again

Congrats on your purchase! Yeah BF guys here are great in helping choosing a knife. Para 2 is probably one of the best out there and it shall do do great for you.

Next knife you ask? Well, what are your specifications? I recommend the ZT 0560. I got it few days ago and I love it! Worth every penny :)

Zt 0560/61...Spyderco Military (preferable M390/CF)...Benchmade 755 MPR...ZT 0400...To name just a few...

Well, as a fellow PM2 lover, I would have to suggest a Manix 2. Great blade with a bit more beef and a great lock as well.

Other knives you would probably love:

Folders:
Spyderco Military
Spyderco Gayle Bradley
Spyderco Caly
Benchmade 710
Benchmade 707
Kershaw Blur S30V

Fixed blades:
Any Esee
Any Becker Knife & Tool

Not just a military, but a carbon fiber m390 military. Now that's the bees knees

Spyderco Manix 2
Spyderco Military
Spyderco Sage 1
Spyderco Sage 2
Or If You Want A Little Different - Sage 3
Spyderco Chokwe - My Current Favorite.
ZT 0350
ZT 0301
ZT 0550
Kershaws Are Awesome As Well.

BM 710, 275, 860, 550
Spyderco Military/Gayle Bradley
ZT 0560

Haven't tried Contego yet. I'm not a huge fan of CPM-M4.

Benchmade 950 Rift
Spyderco Stretch
Benchmade Bone Collector (I like both the walnut scales or the black/green G10 versions)
Emerson CQC 15 or Gentlemen Jim are on my list
For something smaller...I'd go for a Spyderco Dragonfly 2
For something high value...Ontario Rat 1

Wait guys, the op mentioned "legal" in his post- he might be in a state with a 3.5" blade limit, in which case maybe he should try the sage. I like the blur but it is a lot different from a pm2.

Para2 is great. I think you should get something like a zt550. Those two are a great combo. Or a nice case stockman or sodbuster. You will need something you can use in public without people looking at you wierd.

A Military. :D

Whoops, be a little bit careful with this one. The blade is four inches, and I don't know what state you live in. Also, whether you have a concealed weapons permit, which could help.
I these knives; I have two Para2's and two Millies, but various states have crazy laws.

As for another knife, consider the BenchMade model 710 in D2 or M390 steel. 3.9" blade length. One of the most popular knives around. Or, look at Benchmade mini-Griptilian series 556, blade is 2.9". Very popular series; lots of choices there. The Griptilian itself is a larger model. Or, if you really like Spyderco, consider the Caly3 or Caly3.5 knives. Excellent.

Yes, consider BenchMade for a second knife. I love and have quite a few of each, with few other names thrown in.

Thanks for the great ideas, a zt may be out of my price range for a little while, is the military too big to EDC?

I have one everyday since I got my first. Its a long blade but the profile is slim and rides in the pocket well and has like perfect ergos

Your next blade will depend on WHY you like the PM2. I love many of my knives for different reasons. If you like the smoothness of the PM2, you may be somewhat disappointed by the Military. The Military is a great blade and I have several, but it is just not as smooth as the PM2. If you like the compactness of the PM2, the ZT560 may be a bit bulky. If you like the fact that the PM2 is light, the Contego may not work for you. Basically, the PM2 is a great knife for several reasons...you might have issue with several knives for different reasons.

Having said that, the 3 blades I mentioned above are likely amongst the ones I would also recommend:
1. Military - Bigger/Older brother of the PM2
2. ZT0560/561 - I don't have one, but I want one and the ELMAX blade is something I want to try out.
3. Benchmade 810 Contego - Heavier and bulkier than the PM2, but it did manage to bump my PM2 out of my pocket. I love the toughness of M4...but don't like that fact that the blade is coated. I think I'm going to end up stripping that blade once I form my final opinion about the durability of Cerakote.
4. Endura 4 - Slick, long blade in a small, lightweight package. I have mine in ZDP189...and it's slick
5. BM 950 Rift - Compact like the PM2...in a different steel and a more durable bladeshape (tip-wise).

Welcome to the sickness...it is addicting.
