Paramilitary 2 CF S90V Tragedy?

I just got my Para 2 Carbon Fiber S90V C81CFP2 in the mail and I am in a state of shock! The box says it's the knife but the blade says S30V just like my black G-10 Para 2!! :confused: Wrong blade? Wrong laser etching? Help me, please? :( I paid over a $100 more than I did for my first Para 2 and I don't care for Carbon Fiber. :confused:

I'd be calling Spyderco. What's the other side of the blade look like as far as markings? The CF S90v model has two marks on the other side of the blade (Sal and his son's logo I believe). Unless I'm mistaken the S30v Para 2 only has Sal's logo on that side.

Haha, Fail.

I'd say the only solution is to send that sucker back. This sort of mix up just strikes me as kind of funny...
 
I got through to Spyderco and they told me to send it in. I don't know what happened but I am thankfull Spyderco will make it right.

:thumbup: Excellent news, but (thankfully) not a surprising result. Maybe that means there are a bunch of S30V blades on the front of the bench being put into black G10 handles as we sit here today??? :cool:
 
That's funny. My Para 2 with the G10 scales has S90v on the blade. Funny how these things happen.

I am sure Spyderco will make it right although I think you should contact BladeHQ too just so they know whats going out of their doors.
 
I remember last year someone posted about their black G10 Para 1 came with a D2 blade NIB from a reputable dealer. I don't remember what the outcome was but I guess it happens.
 
Sounds like someone swapped blades and then returned the knife to the dealer. Not a very honorable thing to do. I doubt it left Spyderco that way.
 
I don't think I was defrauded. I bought it the same day they got their second shipment in. Freak accident is all. After the ZT 0551 and now this, I am hoping my ESSE HEST won't have any issues. Spyderco and ZT have been great about it, but it's been a crazy string of bad luck knife-wise. All the important stuff in life is good atleast.
 
Good man/good attitude. :thumbup: Sorry these things are happening to you...but a month from now you probably will have forgotten about the annoyance and it'll be just a good story.

This is the first I've heard of this situation. I will check our stock. If anyone else has gotten one of these from us and has the same situation we'll gladly help.

I sent it back directly to Spyderco. I've ordered several knives from Blade HQ with no issues.
 
While we're on the topic of BHQ, I'd like to publicly thank them for the efficient and friendly way the accommodated some delivery gymnastics last week. All the people I talked to were friendly and willing to go out of their way to humor me on some delivery requests. They gave me truly outstanding service, and I think this is only the second or third time I've ordered something from them.
 
I apologize to the OP for the semi-sidetrack but I concur. Cam and BHQ rock in my opinion and I do business with them frequently and never have an issue. In fact, I should have an Ontario RAT 1 folder from BHQ in my mailbox today ;)
