Hello,

Ive had my para 2 for about 3 weeks now and its my favorite folder. The only negative thing I can find is when my hands are cold, wet, or I have gloves on I cant get a grip on the compression lock to disengage it. Has anyone ever added some jimping or skate board grip tape to it??? A photo would be great!!!:D

Thanks,

Chris

Hey....im sorry i cant fully answer your question as i have no picture...so u can stop reading if thats all you really wanted sorry! . But if you have a sec, yeah definetly that compression lock is slick....i wish it was knarled like an emerson knife and on both the para 1 and 2 im thinking of adding skating tape to the lock tab (wherever i can buy that stuff?)...however with the paramilitary 2...if you push your finger into the cut out for the lock your finger rests dead center (approx.) of the lock tab....thats not true with the para 1 ...at least the one that i own...a black camo with only Sal's sig on it. the cutout is open to expose the middle perfectly of the tab...however its a worse design because your finger sits on the top of the cutout (for my hands) which ends up leaving you to close the knife at the top edge of the lock tab. Its not a huge deal, i love the para 1, however i own the para 2 as well and the cutout is higher which lands your finger "meat" directly on the center of the tab automatically. Gloves ive never used with it...but the cut out is so small i'd imagine it'd be difficult with either knife. So im a fan...however my paramilitary 1 is supremely smooth compared to my para 2 which has the little 2 stage lock at the end and a really really hard detent upon opening. However these are my only 2 "high end" knives and they are both excellent to me . However with different small problems. Also since im rambling, the tang on the 1- 2nd gen aint a big deal. Peace!

I think I would try the grip tape since it isn't permanent and is easy to do. Grip tape can be bought at a skate shop or more easily at a hardware store sold as grip tape for stairs and such.
