Paramilitary 2 - Done my research, think it's real, just want clarification

I got a PM2 for Christmas this year, purchased on Amazon from dealer "Spyderco": http://www.amazon.com/Spyderco-Para...-Knife/dp/B003X9WKOO/ref=cm_cr_pr_product_top.

Why I think it's real: lightly chamfered lanyard hole, rounded edge next to compression lock, angled jimping on blade spine, crisp and clear outlined spider logo and writing is spotless, noticeable grain on all parts of blade, flat clip screws, perfectly positioned spider logo on clip.

Why it may be fake: Appear to be a couple notches cut out of the liner on the bottom side, upside down "V" on the box logo appears much larger than that of my Delica box, which is one thing pointed out in a video I watched about Fake PM2's, very slight side to side blade play.

Only a few 1 and 2 star reviews, some of which say "might be fake". So I would like a little clarification if possible from those on here who can easily spot a fake.
Here are a few pictures:

bad photo sorry

Look closely at the spiders mouth on the emblem and notice the upside down V is much larger on the right box (PM2), whereas the left was my Delica box.

I can tell you the notch in the liner is from the production of the knife, and is on every PM2 I've owned (8).

Looks OK, but I do have one question, why would you purchase from Amazon when there were and still are several online, authorized Spyderco dealers with this black G10/satin blade model for the same price or in most cases, for less?

Good question. It was a gift from a family member so I didn't have much say. Being a business owner myself, I prefer to buy from small companies, personally. Thanks for the replies--I'm about as certain as I could be that this knife is legit. It sucks that we have to question authenticity so frequently while these Chinese knockoffs occasionally make their way into our hands. It's unfortunate, but it is fortunate that we have a community to help us identify them.

Its Real. That notch is on all my pm2s including sprints. correct jimping as well.

Thanks for all the replies! I'm really enjoying this knife. It's definitely the biggest folder I have owned, but still seems to be a comfortable fit, tip up in my right pocket. I don't think it will necessarily replace fully my Delica4 as my EDC knife but it is definitely in the rotation probably weekly. I still have about $60.00 left on an Amazon giftcard from Christmas, so considering a Manix 2 or, perhaps, my first Benchmade, a Grip or Mini Grip. Don't let me get too off topic though

Do you have a pic of the bar code on box ? ( for the PM2 )
Yes, need a pic of the box label in order to verify correct fonts and UPC.

As for the inverted "v", slight variations in box graphics are common. Colors and images are laid down separately, one at a time, and physical motion in the printing process can cause alignment variations.

Anyone know what markings are being out on the tang of pm2's now? Had one apart the other day and instead of just the normal month and year, I noticed two letters before it as well. Btw it was purchased from national knives, obviously a legit dealer..? Any input is appreciated.

Its legit. I had some similar concerns with mine, and when I sent it in to Spyderco for some sharperning, I asked them to evaluate it and confirm/deny it was authentic. They said it was absolutely real.

The quality control on PM2 hasn't been the greatest, which accounts for a lot of the discrepancies. In regards to your side-to-side play--mine has some too, and I know a lot of others have very slight movement.

I haven't had much doubt since I started this thread. It's definitely real. I just posted the box for others reference. I appreciate the reply! I dialed out about 99% of the blade play by tightening the pivot screw. It no longer simply drops closed when I pinch the compression lock, but a slight flick does it, and I actually like it that way because I don't flick my knives very often. The quality control on my knife is top knotch, but they're constantly changing little things here and there which probably accounts for some differences. Awesome freaking knife though! Can't imagine a knife I would rather carry daily. Maybe a sebenza if I decide I want to spend that much money.

Spyderco folders have ruined thumb stud folders for me. The round opening hole is (for me) demonstrably superior. I find it safer, more reliable, and more versatile than thumb studs. It had me at "safer."

The Sebenza is a gorgeous piece of functional art, so it saddens me to realize that if given one, I probably wouldn't carry it much. Gotta have that Spyderhole!
