Paramilitary 2 for Lefties?

I really like the size, weight and feel of the PM2 for EDC, but the liner-lock seems to get in the way. Can you suggest alternatives that would work for a "Lefty. " I think the Military for LH might be a little big for me.

Thanks

Pm 2 has a compression lock, not a liner lock. I"m right handed but use mine left handed at times and it is fairly easy to disengage the lock.

Perhaps a different sub-forum would work also.... ;)

Given its lock placement I'd think the Para2 would be even easier for lefties to use. Maybe I'm wrong, I've never been left handed you know =D.

It's usable as is, but I certainly would like the lock to be mirrored for better manipulation left handed. I probably wouldn't end up purchasing one, however, unless it were also offered in an interesting steel.

I'm a lefty. A lefty Umnumzaan, or any left handed knife is much better. Heck even the RIGHT HAND Military's liner lock is easier to manipulate left handed than the PM2. There's also a LH Military.

I am left handed and find the para2 to be very lefty friendly. Give it a shot if you don't like it sell it to me:D Seriously you would have zero problems selling it .

How about a manix2? Same general size, with a bit beefier feel (but still nimble and an excellent slicer, we are talking about a spyderco after all...), and features the fully ambidextrous caged ball bearing lock. It's similar in function to benchmade's axis lock. There are some differences in how the locks actually work, but functionally, as far as the user is concerned they are very similar.

I'm abidextrious, it is def. meant for righties. It perfectly placed so you can use your index finger to disengage it IMO. It is just as easy for my left hand though, I use my thumb to compress the lock and flick it closed.

I'm a southpaw and I find the compression lock, such as on the PM2 very easy to manipulate and is one of my favorite folders. Some people even feel that the PM2 is more lefty oriented than righty. As long as you are equipped with an opposable thumb you should have no problem mastering it.

Is there some weird correlation between knife owners being left handed?

There sure are a lot of us.

I'm a lefty as well and the compression lock is one of my favorites. I do have trouble flicking it closed with my left hand, but it works great to disengage the lock with your left thumb and close the blade in a controlled manner using your index finger. I don't find the inability to flick it closed to be a big problem since the only knives I can flick closed are my axis lock Benchmades and I don't carry them too often.

In what way does the compression lock get in your way?
