Paramilitary 2 Options for Clips?

Hey all,

I finally bought a PM2 which came in a couple days ago. I really wish I would have been able to handle one before purchasing online. It's not very comfortable for me in hand and part of the problem is the clip. I've tried moving it to all 4 positions but none feel that good. The knife feels much better without the clip but I like securing the knife with a clip over letting it flop around in the pocket. Does anyone have experience with a Ti "low rider"? Do they feel any better in hand over the factory clip? I like a little bit of the knife to extend out of pocket for ease of grab but would be willing to try a different clip if it helps ergonomics in the hand. If not maybe I should keep looking for a knife that feels better for me.

What's your personal experience with different clips?

Thanks,

James

If you don't like the feel of the clip.
Then a low profile clip is likely not going to improve it.

I like low profile clips because the knife is less visible.

I might just be trying to find a way to like it at this point. I would rather not put more money into it and still not like it. Thanks for the advice.

Remove the clip and add a lanyard the anchors outside your pocket

If you get a shorter low rider clip and go tip up, it will change the ergos for sure. Whether it is an improvement or not will depend on you. My low-riders are shorter and seem less obtrusive. The longer the handle the more likely the shorter clip will not be felt. For me just the tail end of the clip on the PM2 is grasped. In the Military's case I can grip the knife such that the clip is not in my grasp at all.

I love the Ti low rider clip I have for my PM2.

Thanks for the suggestions! I'm actually going to give the lanyard a try as I have never personally used one on a folder.

nccole, those are Casey lynch clips, correct? Is Theoriginalspaceman his user name here? I'll have to send him an email.

Yeah, Casey is a good guy.

Casey also makes a really nice set of aluminum scales for the PM 2, they fit perfectly and improve the looks. The Titanium clip is very tough and all the edges are smooth so it is comfortable.

I run mine right hand tip up, it feels the most natural when i draw it out of my pocket. But if none of the positions feel comfortable to you bladeplay.com and bladehq.com both sell some pretty cool looking Spyderco lanyards you can put on your knife.
