Just received my PM2 yesterday and I have a few questions. The blade is kind of hard to flick out with my thumb without flicking my wrist really hard. Is there anyway I can loosen the pivot without creating blade play because last night I loosened one side of the screw a bit and it cause some blade play. One more thing do any of your Pm2's screech a bit when you open it fast using the thumb hole?

1) None of mine have ever screeched. You may need a very thin application of a fav lube. If you notice any gunk in the pivot areas, t might want washing and drying first.
2) If the knife was a new purchase, I'm not a fan of trying to "adjust" a new knife. I just use them for a while. After I've used something for a couple of weeks, I'll start thinking about what I'd might want to do to dial in my preferences a bit more. New parts take a little settlin' in. I'd suggest just using it for a while and see where it ends up, then think about adjusting it.

I just got a PM2 as well and it was a little stiff, but not as bad as yours. I loosened the pivot so that swung freely, but there was blade play. Then I tightened it back down to where there was no blade play and it was perfect. I don't know what happened but that did the trick for me.

Thanks guys. 1 last question its a noob question but this is one of my first knives and ive never done this but how do you loosen the pivot? Do you turn the screw thats kind of in the middle on to of the handleto the left?

Righty tighty, lefty loosey :D
Adjusting the PM2 pivot involves the two pivot screws, and the blade stop screws as well. Just make small adjustments till you have it where you like it. I'd loctite the threads to keep them from backing out on you over time.

Yea I was really confused because one side of the handle i was able to take out the pivot screw but not the two smaller ones and the other side was the opposite i took out the smaller ones but the pivot screw wont budge. are all pms like this.

Although the screws were weird i was able to slide the handle took off the blade and just put everything back and the blade is so smooth no need to flick my wrist at all!!!!

Is there any blade play in the knife at all? My first reaction having received a knife as you did however would be to send it back for a replacement blade (assuming purchased as new). I'd not monkey with it too much and risk voiding the warranty or something like that on a brand new knife.

Nope no blade play at all and I loosened the pivot a bit previously if i loosened it at all a little blade play formes, after I took it apart it was smooth as butter compared to when I first got it.

Hope this makes sense. I have my PM2 clip set up for right hand carry. The pivot screw on my clip side is the one you want to adjust for the pivot. The pivot screw on my non-clip side is tighten down all the way.

Perhaps someone else can shed some light on this.

Also my past PM2's have all had a break in period.
