Paramilitary 2 scales??? Rough like an Emerson or a ZT350? Or a little smoother?

Hello all.

Just a quick question the search feature didn't seem to help me.

The texture of the G10, on the Para 2, in particular the Sprint runs....

Is the texture same rough feel as an Emerson or even the G10 scales on a ZT350?

This texture for some reason I just cannot handle, short circuits my brain or something and is like nails on a chalk board to some.

Thanks in advance,

Karbon

Karbon, I just gave a vigorous fondling to a few Para 2 sprints, a ZT 0350 and a couple of Emersons (CQC-8 and -13), and honestly I can't tell much difference in them. But mine are lightly used, and the G10 will smooth out a little over time. But according to my thumb , they are all pretty much the same. JMO.

Thanks...I wanted to know, but now I'm very dissapointed with a Par 2 BBT order and another on the way in blue...

Shoot.

Why not actually have the knives in your possession and handle them use them before you start with the "oh noeeess!!!11" disappointments?

I cannot say for sprint runs or the other knives, but my digicam para 2 is smoother than my tenacious (I do not have an extensive or expensive collection). It is almost slick IMO and doesn't provide much traction, the ergo's make up for that though. The g10 will smooth over time as well I'd think, but going by the feeling you described with that specific texture....have fun breaking in the handles? *shivers*
If its the kind that makes you "short circuit" then run some fine sandpaper over them till you get it the way you'd like maybe.

I bought sight unseen due to the lack of "decent" shops around me.

I would probably re-sell or trade one and then possibly mod one of the blue sprints.

Its very similar feeling to a 350, I love the way g-10 feels, nice and grippy, I will say I don't care for Cold Steel's g-10 tho

sandpaper. wear gloves while you smooth out the scales, because the sandpaper might be too rough and feel like the G10.

disappointed... because the G10 is too rough? seriously? if you're going to use it, it'll smooth out. if you're going to keep it in a safe, it won't matter.

I might have to try that, thanks for the suggestions.

Trust me guys, it's a feeling I just cant take, something with it, like a file...I can't take the feel or sound of it.
