Paramilitary 2 screw issues

I decided to take apart my Para 2 and stonewash the blade. It looks great and I was ready to put it back together however I'm having a small issue. The top pillar, next to the pivot screw, is having issues threading. I got everything as tight as I could and screws on both sides are sticking out a good amount (definitely enough to grab pockets). I was wondering if anyone had any advice to get the screws out now and repair everything or if I can contact spyderco for a new set? Any help would be great, thanks.

Were they loctited? Maybe you need to dig in the receiving end and scrape some gunk out?

I'm not exactly sure what you are describing. The stop pin screws won't thread in all the way, is that it?

If so then try what sqchram suggests. There could be gunk in there. Whatever you do, don't try to force them in with brute force, you may crossthread the screws.

Besides gunk, I recall that when I had mine apart, the stop pin was a little tricky to get seated back in its proper place where it nests in the liners/scales. If it wasn't seated right then I could not get one of the screws to start. That doesn't really sound like your issue but it's something to check.

Also, it looks like the rear spacer uses screws of the same diameter. I don't remember if those were longer than the stop pin screws, but if they are and you mixed these up that could be your problem. Maybe try switching them.

Yeah the screw would not screw in completly. Also now I cannot get the screw out of the stop pin. Any suggestions to fix this? Also would I even be able to send the knife into spyderco and get it repaired? Thanks again guys.

The stop pin has to sit in the liners properly. Check that out.

Sending to the factory after disassembly is possible, but it will cost you.
