Hi,

simple facts which makes this knife unique and a "must have".

Here are my praises:
1-full belly blade with a pointy blade - useful in all situations from eye surgery to start a fire...
2-FFG - This is now a trademark of hardchore folder especially with a tappered 4mm blade.
3-in house engineered great lock - Mine are sticky but I lock them that way. There is now play lateral or vertical...
4-A thoughful concept since the C36 - Thought as a reliable tough tool. The new para kicked my good old millie out of my pocket.
5- Eric & Sal signatures on the blade which means a lot ! This is a transgenerationnal design.
6-top notch QC a la Manix 2  - All my paramillies are high quality knives.
7- 15 years of Spyderco's improvement in one package... from the nested liners to the choil there are a lot of great features in one knife and a lot of details which are not seen by the E.L.U.
and list goes on.

My main issue with the Paramilitary 2 is the way it kicks my other Spydies from my EDC rotation. And the more I use it the more it grows on me.
Clipped in the waistband, I don't "feel" it like my C36 when I sit in my car.
Fast to get in action and fast to close and secure.

I'm certain, I'm not the only one to love this knife more and more.

Cheers
nemo

(The other Spyderco knife which is on the ascendant love curve is the mighty Bushcrafter. Using that knife on hard material and in the wood is pure joy...)

I agree with everything you said about this knife. I really like the strong detent, the fast action, and the awesome ergo. I still have a D2 Para and a M4 Military in the rotation, though

Allrighty...this thread needs pics...

...and with its older (but shorter) brother:

I have recently added a para-2 and a M4 Millie into my edc rotation.

I was always a little turned off by the para blade being short, but I really like what Spyderco did with the para-2.

Still growing on me as well!

I showed a few buddies my P2 EDC at a bachelor party over the weekend and they were seriously impressed. Now the groom wants to buy one for each of the 9 groomsmen. LOL! :)

i LOVE my para2

got the s90v/cf and HAD to order the standard

waiting on the spring with grey g10

It didn't really need to grow on me much, I knew I'd love it from the moment I first saw a picture of the prototype. It's really great.

Just got my second Para 2 (regular G10 satin S30V). This one is just perfect out of the box. No break in needed. Nice to have a backup of this awesome knife. Wish I could afford one of the S90V ones. Hoping I can find a Carpenter steel one after they eventually are released at a somewhat more reasonable cost. Unfortunately, I didn't find out about them until it was too late to have much chance at getting one as a pre-order. Wish Spyderco would make a bunch of extras to meet the initial demand.

Can anyone recommend the best on-line source for a black bladed Para 2? I'm seeing them on EBay for around $135. w/ shipping.

I believe Howe's Knife Shop has a few in stock for less than that. Plus they provide great service and super fast free shipping.

I'm having one shipped. it was suppose to be a gift for my brother. Doesnt anyone own a CRK Seb and how does it compare.

I would check out cutleryshoppe.com. I always get great service there.
I also like newgraham.com and knifeworks.com

Thanks for the tip!

I just ordered the last one he had in stock, paid $118. w/ free shipping.

I've never been a big fan of coated blades, but I think it looks good on this knife. Plus the Para 1 that I have has the satin blade.

You're welcome. Glad you managed to grab one from him. He's also got a great deal going on the regular satin one atm. I got a second one of those (for backup) from him that is just perfection in every respect. When I wear out my first Para 2, (from sharpening it so frequently), it will be nice to be able to switch over to that one. I also have a black blade one on back order from CS. Not sure if maybe I'll cancel that and get a Millie (which I don't yet have an example of) instead. But my enjoyment and appreciation of the Para 2 just keeps growing with every passing day.
