Paramilitary 2 Suspect Authenticity

I've had this knife for a while now and while it's certainly been a great blade for me, the authenticity seems a little on the side of suspect. This is my second Paramilitary 2 (the first being sold off in the past so I no longer have it to compare this example with), but the G-10 doesn't provide the same traction as what's remembered of my old one having. In fact, the texture is nearly smooth in hand despite making a bit of noise when raking a thumb nail along the surface. Is this just variation in production batches or...?

Looks legit to me, from what I can tell with the pics. Perhaps your g10 is just developing that pocket worn feel. You said you've had it a while, I assume you've been using it? My G10 is not as coarse as it once was, or perhaps I'm just used to it. Had mine for a year now with HEAVY pocket time.

I've carried it about five or six times total in all.

I agree with Tdhurl that the knife looks legit. And that the g-10 loses that grip over time. But I have and have had quite a few PM2's and have definitely noticed that some of the texture varies. I think you just got one of the less textured runs. I compared two of my satin/black s30v models both of which are brand new and the texture is quite different.

Where did you buy it from and was it used or new? If it was bought used it's possible the previous owner sandpapered it. My pm2 was very grippy when I first got it but now it's really smooth just from use and carry.

If the pivot Torx screws is T8 which suppose to be T10, then it's fake. Looks like the Pivot Torx drive is same as the scales.

The pivot's a T10 as I just checked this to see. The size difference between T8 and T10 must be a bit difficult to tell from photos.

But yea... I'm pretty sure it's not a fake now and was probably just a normal variant in G10 with production runs...

I make my decision with 2 seconds of seeing the photos--

real.

+1

There's nothing in the photos that would make me think this is a fake. The scales look identical to the scales on my black on black PM2 which is also not super grippy.
