hi so i recently got back into my spyderco kick and im absolutely in love with my manix 2. Ive been debating between the knew exclusive manix with a grey handle and black blade or a paramilitary 2 with red digi camo with a black blade. Thoughts? I love the manix over the fidget factor too. I know theres a lot of m2 vs pm2 threads but with the constant spyderco improvements i thought it was worth posting this. P.s. my manix doesn't have milled liners but the new one i have my eye on has milled liners

i usually carry a zt Emerson 0630 plus my manix 2. pocket space isnt a big factor to me

I carry a lightweight Manix in S90V, or S110. Like the blade shape, handle and the the extremely solid easy to operate lock. Para is very nice but I never could warm up to it as well as the Manix.

Try a PM 2. See what all of the enthusiasm is about. For someone who fidgets with their knife, the PM 2 will be fun. And it acually cuts well and is comfortable.

I much prefer the Manix2 over the PM2 , personally. I know this because I've owned and carried each for a while.

That being said , I think you should give the PM2 a try. Branch out and see how you like it. It may be your ultimate edc.

There's a red digicam PM2? What's the blade steel?

its a knives plus exclusive. they also have a blue digi camo and also both variations for the para 3. the steel is still s30v and the price is about 160 i think

Cool. Looks like they were dyed by the dealer.

If that's your cup of tea then go for it. I'd rather go with the normal digicam and satin blade for $136. Or the S110V blade for $166.

Good luck.

yeah they do some cool mods. originally i was going to go with the all blacked out pm2 but its only a couple of dollars more. plus im really digging the red and black. im leaning towards the pm2 since i already have a manix 2. but still debating

quick question. on blade hq i see them put "new pivot bushing system" and i have no idea what that means and it only has that on some pm2 models. is it a new thing? can someone explain it to me please

I sold my PM2 but kept the Manix. More accurately, I replaced the Manix2 after my wife “acquired” mine...

I much prefer the Manix, that said, since you haven’t hadn’t a PM2 you don’t know which you prefer. Get the PM2. It’s a low risk proposition. If you don’t like it, they hold value well and sell quickly on the exchange.

Those Blue Digi and Black Blade and Red Digi and Black Blade go really well together. I'd pick one of them up, you said you have a Manix and light the Fidget Factor, get a PM2, you'll like it. I have a Manix 2 XL and a PM2 as well, I like both for what they are. The XL is more the big bruiser and the PM2 is a bit more classy, in large part because of their appearance of course, the PM2 is Copper/Satin and the XL is all black errrything.

both good knives you can go wrong with ether , I personally prefer PM series .

Manix 2 is probably my favorite production knife but if you've never had a PM2 I'd pick that one. Great knife.

Fidget factor is not bad with a PM2, btw. The lastest sprints I've handled are drop shut tuned and you can open them with a middle-finger flick.

I keep coming back to your thread because you got me interested in one of those dyed Digicamo/Black PM2's...dammit...I don't need a second...I don't need a second...:D

The Manix is a mule : thicker (blade especially at the edge), slow and awkward but gets the heavy work done.
The Para 2 is a race horse: leaner and more streamlined (blade and handle just gets to the finish line with less effort and more speed), more nimble, more fun. No question. Its nature can disturb some (drops closed effortlessly and super fast and that "delicate" (USEFUL) point, oh yeah baby !

Now some people love mules; my father really liked mules.

I had a Manix . . . I have several Para 2s

I carry both and I like both. I like the Manix 2 better as a working knife, the PM2 better for EDC. I would be happy with either one.
The one advantage of the Manix 2 models is the variety- standard G10, lightweight FRCP, and XL, and I have at least several of each.
