I heard talk about one in orange...Any know when these might come into production ? I'd love to see one in the translucent green g10 like used on the leafstorm

2010 is the rumor

That's all we know, that and the prototype pics floating about.

I hope the Military receives the updated ergonomics of the handle. The Military needs a deeper index finger groove (not choil on the blade) as well.

I just hope they keep making it with digicam handles. :D
The Para deserves a bit of flair, all black is so dull.

I have a feeling we are going to see some very exciting and exotic versions of this knife in the future.

With these updates this is going to be one of the best folding knives ever. It's going to be hard to find a problem with it.

Other than a 4 way clip, I don't see too much that is different from the original.

My wet dream is a Para 2 with translucent G-11 on one side and ti frame lock on the other.

One thing I don't quite understand though is how they could manage to remove the protruding tang corner on the knife the way they've done and still get the compression lock to work the same way. I love the way the knife looks in a closed position now, but I thought the exposed tang was a necessity for the compression lock of the knife (why it was there in the first place). It seems it would be a little hard to make the construction of the lock fit in the knife on a surface that small.

I'm no expert on this however and I'm sure they've managed to solve it in a great way, but it would be really interesting to see a cross section picture of the knife to see how it is made.

From what I've seen of this knife so far it's the perfect knife. I will definitely get one.

aye, they need to make this into a framelock. An all ti framelock, with texture.

First of all, the whole knife is slightly longer than the first version. They have also modified the butt end of the handle, lengthening the four finger choil of the knife, making it easier to grip the knife in a full hand grip if you have big hands. The index finger choil closest to the blade is also slightly bigger now. Finally, like I said before, the exposed corner of the tang of the blade in a closed position has also been removed giving it a more stream lined profile when closed.

While sitting here I am looking at both my Millie and D2 Para and while the 2 is obviously an awesome looking knife, it appears to be more of a "Mini-Millie" as far as looks go. Is it the pics or has the blade shape changed to a more slender profile? Guess I'll have to get one and see for myself. :)

Just went and watched the video and it answered every question I had! Slightly longer, slightly heavier and some really nice tweaks.

I don't understand the "mini-Millie" argument. The Para2 has completely different ergos, a four way deep pocket clip, and a vastly different and arguably superior lock.

And what's wrong with the Millie anyways?

i wish they had kept the blade length the same for the para 2, but to me it doesnt look like a para anymore.

Granted I haven't seen the Para2 in person. But looking at the proto pics and knowing what I know about the 1st Para, I think the Para2 is going to knock the Manix2 and Para1 out of the top spots in my EDC rotation.

I agree. I prefer 3 inches for an EDC and for the legalities of the state I live in. However, it doesn't really make a difference. A slightly longer blade won't hamper performance and if a cop wants to take away my Para 2, he'd probably do the same thing with a regular Para.

I actually prefer this new look. IMO, this is what the Para should have looked like from the beginning. Think about it. Military came first. Then came the Para-MILITARY. It makes sense that the Para would be a miniature version of its predecessor.

Sure wish I knew the blade length, and OA of this new Para, just to compare.
Then I'll know wether or not to save up, or just be content with my D2"S

I really do not like the change in the length and the blade shape. I understand why they did it but like the original better. To me a slight change in the handle shape and a tip up clip was all that was needed.
