Paramilitary compared to Delica

According to the catalog, the Paramilitary is considerably bigger than the Delica. The Para will have a blade slightly over 3" and an overall length just under 8". Think along the size of a Kershaw Blur or Blackout or maybe an Emerson CQC7.

The catalogue says Para blade is 3 3/32( 81mm), overall length is 7 7/8 (200mm).
Folded the knife must be around 119mm or 4 22/32 inches.
So.. 17.5mm longer than the Delica when closed..
23 mm longer overall.

When you all get them (next week!!!) please post some scan pics comparing them.
thanks

This is I think how they compare:

Delica closed is 4"/102 mm
Para closed is 4 3/4"/121mm

(2004 dealer catalog)

first pic is 251 pixels wide, second is 296 wide, so that should be pretty close

I'm definitely getting a paramilitary. It's going to my pleasure to see whether it outcuts my calypso jr :D

Has anyone heard anything about a release date on it?

Any information on bladesteel, blade thickness, where it will be manufactured, linerlock rating (is it MBC rated), release date and MSRP?

thanks - eagerly awaiting the paramilitary. I found the military way too big for my type of carry, but the para looks to be alright.

Tip-down only?
I like the looks of the handles, and the specs look good.
Anyone have a pic with the blade in the open position?
Thanks.

Sounds like a bigger, stouter version of the Calypso Jr.
And that sounds like a great knife.

Owen, click the link in my signature for the list with all spydies. The Paramilitary is in there.

Appreciate it, Ted :)
Not sure how I feel about the edge curvature, but I really like the angle of the blade in relation to the handle, and how "pointy" the tip is.
That is one good-looking knife. Think I will buy one.
Thanks.

Ted Voorde,

I believe, the ParaMilitary's blade thickness is 3mm (1/8"), not 4mm. Lil'T has a 4mm thick blade.

Franco, Where did you get that info? The info I have is from the 2004 Dealer Catalog... (just checked it again).
It could be wrong though...there have been some small errors in the dealer/consumer catalogs before.

Ted

Ted Voorde,

There is the following thread (it took me some time to find it), where Sal said it - follow the link

Aha, Interesting 3mm 6 months ago, but now 4mm in the dealer catalog.

3mm makes sense in way, that the Paramilitary was designed to be a 3/4 sized version of the Military, which has a 4mm blade.
But, the hole is still 14mm... oh well, we'll see for real when we all will finally get it ;)
