Hello guys... Any words on this particular knife? I want to know how's the steel performs.

well i have a kershaw with the same steel, CPM-D2. and i like it a lot. very sharp holds it edge long. and nearly stainless. if you have the chance to get the para in D2 i would jump on it. being a sprint run and all with that steel, which isnt being produced anymore AFAIK.

Mine cuts like a laser beam. I love it! One of my favorite Spydercos. The only bad thing I can say is that finding one now can be both difficult and expensive. Wish I'd have bought two.

I wish Spyderco'd gotten enough CPM-D2 to do more than the 2 sprint runs (Milly and Para). It's good stuff.

My personal favorite. Never owned any CPMD2 and was pleasantly surprised by its performance.

Handles nice, holds an edge well and resists rust better than I expected. Its a terrific knife IMO

its fantastic! First time with the steel and its great! it takes a great edge and holds it for a while! if you can find one, i would not hesitate:D:D

The CPM-D2 Para is an amazing knife which is as tough as nails. You owe it to yourself to experience that steel in that package. You won't be disappointed.

My only Para to date. Never needed sharpening, just occasional touch-ups on the strop. No problems with staining or rusting, either.

This past Monday, I opened my D2 Para and said to myself "I cannot take them with me", so I started to carry it. I love this thing. The para is an awesome knife to begin with, but this one is just special.

I really like my D2 Para. One of my favorite EDC's. Steel is great and I have never really had to sharpen it since I got it over a year ago.

I like mine fine, I personally wouldn't pay a premium for a Para in CPM D2 over S30V as I personally can't tell a difference in performance between CPM D2 and S30V and I have a few knives in both steels, I also prefer the more stainless properties of S30V as I have had some surface rust on CPM D2 from being forgetful(no big issue though).

If you like D2 you will probably like CPM d2 in your para millie even more. It's a powder steel version so it's got finer grain size and a more consistent purity. Spyderco was able to run this steel at Rc 61-62 so the natural strength and wear resistance of this tool steel was put to good use. The smaller grains and higher RC's make this steel sharpen very well, with little burring and good edge stability and wear resistance.

Makes it sound pretty good, eh? It is. Enjoy your knife.

every guy needs his toys at hand, here are mine

(sorry for the lousy pic, I'm at work and have only cell phone available)

I offered mine for sale locally here in EU and I'm glad knife didn't been sold ... Now it is couple of days I've put it into my EDC rotation and it is number one. great size, materials, and look :)

It is an incredible knife, if you’ve got the chance to pick one up I wouldn’t hesitate, the price will only go up. And with the Para 2 in the pipe line there is a good chance that it will be the ultimate (and most desirable) version of the original Para.

In my edc rotation the CMP-D2 Para is among the best knives I’ve ever used. I tried to sell it not long after I bought it, thankfully it didn’t sell, and thankfully it’s taken to much use to be sold as anything more than a heavy user.

SNG, Sebenza, Military, 710-801, S90V Manix2, these are just some of the knives that I’ve sold because they can’t bump the CMP-D2 para from my pocket.

We have 5,000 pounds of CPM D-2 on order with Crucible Industries. We should have it rolled into into sheet by mid to late May. Kershaw has already placed an order for some and I'm sure there will be more to follow.
