Hello - I'm new here to the forums and was considering a purchase of the Paramilitary 2 with cts-204p blade steel. I've heard much about it being a twin of m390, but have not been able to find actual examples of people's user experiences. I'd really appreciate any information on this steel and its performance in the Para 2 configuration - especially by those that have a Para 2 in m390 with which to compare. Much thanks for your time and help.

I have been carrying the cts-204p version para 2 for a couple of months. Haven't touched the edge yet. It hasn't gotten a lot of hard core use, but it does get used alot - mainly out in the warehouse cutting boxes, shrink wrap, etc. It compares quite favorably with my s90 as far as edge holding, with the nod going to the s90. I have been very impressed with the steel especially in the para 2 platform. Very nice knife - would like to pick up another, but Spyderco keeps putting out new ones that need to get purchased first.

I have Para 2's with both steels and they are pretty hard to tell the difference in edge holding, at least to me. I like the green G10 better than the blue but my blue one is smoother. Can't lose with your choice my friend.

Thanks for all your helpful replies, especially the results of Ankerson's testing - very interesting stuff. I ended up getting both knives - when in doubt, get both..right? :)
