Paramilitary D2 Makeover!

Decided to create my ideal Paramilitary 1 so i could try out D2 steel.

Couple before pictures:

First i decided to sand down the handle so it fit my hand better.

Next i decided to add some colour to a custom lowrider clip from STR

Next i wanted to add some colour to the blade. Love non stainless steels

Lastly, i re-profiled the edge to 15 degrees per side with a 20 degree micro bevel

I had a Para 1 in D2 also. I modded the handle almost exactly the way you did about half an hour after I got the knife. I knew the handle wasn't going to be

long enough before I bought the knife.

I also did a patina with concentrated lemon juice. The patina looks better on yours than mine did tho.

Spyderco had a special deal on the P1 in D2 for $100 sometime in late spring or summer of '10 IIRC.

Very nice job on Para 1.

I guess niether of us liked the way Spyderco made the Para 1.
