I was wondering if there is any space on the Para's handle to be removed like you did, if memory serves me correctly, on the Emerson Stubby? I like the Para, but I'm really not big on the handle ratio.
Thanks.

Funny, I was just asked the other day about shortening a CQC14 for someone but I have not done that. I've redone five making them into .160 thick titanium frame locks though. I have seen at least one snubby that was shortened. It didn't do much for me personally. I actually like the handle of the 14 about as well as any other knife.

On the Para Military. Again a knife a really like and have taken to as far as the concept of the larger handle shorter blade idea. This has always been a knife that sat very well with my large hands but in answer to your question I don't think so.

The handle only appears large for the blade when the blade is opened. Look at the pic I've attatched with the view looking down at the closed blade into the handle and you'll see that it fills up the handle pretty well with the tip actually sitting just over the lanyard sleeve. This leaves very little room to take anything off at all. So, the only effective way to shorten the handle would be to also shorten the blade and then when all is said and done you are right back in the same mish mash of ratios you started with. Fortunately some like myself and other guys with preference for shorter blades but liking longer handles so our pinky isn't dangling off the end this is one of those models that appeals to us.

I wish I liked the lock better on this model. It works fine and I have a really nice PM but I'd carry it more if it was a lock I favored more. I do love the blade on it.
