I have a mini skirmish and really like it but i've been eyeing out a paramillie and have heard alot good about it....pros and cons??

which paramillie is more preferable the polished blade or the black. Does the black scratch and chip off?

I love my Para Military, the handle is extremely grippy and the blade shape is very versitle, I also prefer thumb holes over studs and I love the compression lock. I love everything about the Para, but if I had one itty bitty thing I would change it would be that the blade is just over 3", and I would have liked it to stretch to 3.5", but the blade length it sports now cuts excelently.

Plain blade or black finsh: I think black finish really is only useful on a tool steel to prevent corrosion. Since all the Para's are stainless S30V, the black coating is only for looks, and I don't happen to like the urban commando black blade look.

I like all my knives; but when I need some serious cutting done or want a knife I can absolutly depend on, I only grab my Para Military.

Paramilitary is a great knife. Concur with Rusty Edge, but I like the black blades because they don't show the fingerprints as much. It is more resistant to scratching than BM's BT coating, but it tends to dull fairly quickly. The Skirmish looks kind of poseur-ish, IMO, whereas the Para is clearly designed for real use.

The skirmish is designed for real use to. It my look a little flashy but I think that Busse knives with there special handles an all are kind of flashy to. But everybody knows that the are meant for use. Back to the main subject though, I think that they are both great knives. I like a frame lock though a lot so I like the Skirmish a little better.

The Benchmade Mini-Skirmish is very cool looking, but VERY blade heavy & thickly ground.

The Spyderco Paramilitary seems to be ground thinner & would buy that instead.

Lastly, the Spyderco's black finish is Bodycote's nearly-scratch/rust proof finish & will look new a lot longer than the benchmade.
