Does any one know where Paramount 151 rum can be bought? I bought some in Pa. and developed a taste for it, and it is not sold in Oklahoma. Thanks all.
 
that's funny, i just googled Paramount, and found this thread. i tried it today i had one shot, and fell down. i'm not a drinker, but thought one shot wouldn't be so bad. it's 150% proof death.
 
Does it really taste that much diff from Bacardi 151? Bacardi 151 is probably way easier to find.

Just a suggestion.
 
yeah, it's a lot different. i can drink Bacardi straight without needing oxygen afterwards, or lighting myself on fire by accident. Paramount is horrible stuff. i don't drink a whole lot, because i don't like being drunk, but i will have a drink every so often to chill. this stuff is explains why Jack Sparrow was so spastic, i think. Johnny Depp must have had a shot or two before every take on the set. i had a shot, and started talking like him, and stumbled for about 15 minutes.
 
I think that the only thing Bacardi has going for it is a good PR Dept. I like the Paramount 151 is much better. When I'm not drinking Scotch, I like Cuba Libre's. I also like the Black Seal Rum.

i didn't; my g/f's brother has a bottle lying around that he takes a shot from once or twice a year, because he forgets how horrible it is. we live in PA, so i gather from what you've said it's available here. it's made in the West Indies, though, so it's an import.

JW, your problem is that you are drinking straight shots. That is not something one normally does with a 75.5% ethanol solution. (not more than once anyway.)

Fudo evidently likes it because he drinks it in mixed drink. This is doable. (Google "Cuba Libre". )

Knarfeng is entirely correct. I woudn't drink anybody's 151 straight. But I do like Cuba Libre's.
