This project has been sort of an ongoing thing for awhile where the blanks sat around for months and then one day it's like the stars aligned and I knew what I wanted to do. The blanks came from Malaysia, I don't think they are available anymore (as blanks) before anyone asks, but I have seen where the finished Parangs are available now in the States with the plastic handles frequently seen on them. I split out some oak from a big pile of skid material I recently acquired for the handles. I used these colors of Kydex because I had/have a big sheet of it I am trying to use up. I think the pics tell the rest of the story. The E-nep is a 13" Aranyik, the Parangs are 12". The E-nep weighs 1lb, 10oz, the Parangs are dead on 1lb. The E-nep handles are a little small for my taste, but I just couldn't bring myself to cover up that one side by wrapping it with anything, it's just such nice looking wood.
