Here is a Mini Parang. It is small but has lots of cutting power. I really like the ergonomics of this one.

very nice looking.

how do you find the shock to the hand when using non-handled (or for that matter, non-mortised/hidden tang) choppers?

Actually, I would consider the new wrapped handles I'm doing to be closer to mortised/hidden than full. I remove about a 1/16 all the way around the tang, add tooling leather scales, wrap it in hemp then soak it in epoxy. the whole thing becomes one solid mass in the end.

I think it absorbs shock rather well... but then again, I don't feel much shock from full tangs either. Probably from decades of being a rock drummer... Ha!

sweet...
nice hidden tang design
AFAIK, none maker in my country made tang like that
I've made 2 parang with rat tail and full tang

this is your own design ?
may I adopt that design ?

thanks

Sorry, my english not too well

That looks great bro, lately I'm really liking shorter machete type choppers. I bet that 7/32 does give it some heft and power.

Yeesh...chopper heaven.

Is that the same size as you did for the WSS machete challenge?
