paring and shaving too much to ask from one blade?

Just get a good paring knife like those from Victorinox. Who actually shaves with a knife ??!! Sure it can be done, but why?

Why should a razor not be pointy?
If one is carefully and the blade is long enough it's not that hard then it should work. No?

I woudn't shave with a pointy straight razor. One sharp edge is enough, I'd poke my eyes out if it was pointy as well.

The question is why? Why would someone want to shave while julienning carrots anyways?

I'd personally rather not have DNA infused apple slices... bits of hair and skin flakes do not pair well with food.

I've seen people shave with bowie knives and pocket knives. Why not buy a high end paring knife, sharpen it, and find out?

Did a partial shave with a serrated hawk blade from spyderco once.
Sisters wedding we were almost too late and hurried a lot. Once we reached in the parking lot I saw I had missed a few spots while shaving earlier. Was the only blade I had in the car and only used the tip which had .5cm of no serrations.
If you are careful you can do lots of stuff.

My dad uses a foldable razor blade everyday. A few tiny cuts, maybe once a week and no hospital yet.

I shaved my head with a 4-3/4" san mai hitachi blue steel clip point EDC-I'm not saying it was a well reasoned decision but it worked, and I didn't cut myself. It did take a looooong time.
As far as regular shaving goes I think western straight razors are too long. I use a little 2" kamisori hybrid.
