As they are both slipjoints, I thought posting them here would be appropriate.

The first one is the "Dodu" by Eric Parmentier (Belgium). It's small, 2 1/3" blade. Great fit&finish, half stop, walk and talk. All in all a cool little knife. Niolox steel blade and stabilized Amboina Burl scales.

The second one is a slipjoint by Raphael Durand (France). It's based on the traditional model "Le Thiers".
Perfect fit and finish, fluid lines and generally a great knife. I had or handled pieces from some of the best slipjoint makers, he's is the same class. The blade is 3 1/8". RWL34 steel and carbon fiber handle.

Great scores! Thanks for sharing!! Gracefull lines on both knives, each in it's own style.

While they are both exquisite work, that top one really speaks to me; Stunning!

Does Mr. Parmentier have a website? :)

Beautiful! When I was in Paris two weeks ago I got this little #4 Opinel with slipcase...want to trade. Just kidding. :)

Wow!

Like has been said, both knives are beautys, but the husky sheepsfoot job has an appeal to me. Drop dead gorgous wood.:thumbup::thumbup:

Great haul flava!

Always nice to see stuff from other countries..
That Dodu is definetely interesting.. Very nice wood, interesting blade shape and has some nice touches as well..

I'm not real up on the different steels, what would they compare to that the makers in the U.S are using ?

The RWL34 is a powder steel equivalent of ATS34, quite similar to CPM154V I think.
Niolox (1.4153.03) is a steel that contains niobium, cuts good and sharpens well, not sure to what steel it compares. Here is the composition:
C 0,8%
Cr 12,7%
Mo 1,1%
V 0,9%
Nb 0,7%
Fe the rest

Thank you all for the kind comments :)

Flava,

Thanks for posting those. I like number one the best. Very unusual and useful design.

Number two looks great also.

Flava, that Dodu is the neatest folder I've seen in a long time. I really like how this gentleman thinks. Looks like a very useful blade. Thanks for sharing.

Both look like awesome knives - thanks for sharing. That Dodu is unusual in a really good way!
