I just got this Parker knife which seems to be a great design for a deer hunting backup. It appears unused, yet the blade has a very slight amount of play side-to-side. Could I gently peen the pin and tighten it up?

Yes you could...but for the love of god go slow if you hit it to much it will become to stiff to open, so I'd give it a lite hit then test the blade a lite hit then test the blade ect....

Hope it helps!

Either that or you could replace the pivot pin/screw with one that you can tighten with an alen or torx. I have a mossberg lockback that i tightend up with a gunsmithing hammer, and it was fine. You ought to put a cloth over the pivot when you tap on it so doesnt leave any marks.

Yes you can,but why.If it's very slight it will have no ill effect to being a good user hunting knife.Back up or front line.

I had not thought of that Seals....so you think the sideways wobble, very slight, doesnt compromise usable strength/integrity?

Not with a lockback imo.Get it real sharp and use the heck out of it.A bit of side play wont hurt or even be noticed. But she looks good now!
