Relative new comer to forums, but I probably teethed on on a pocketknife about 60 years ago. Found what I hope may be my greatest slippy yet. I am asking advice in several areas and hope you can help me out. First let me say this one is for my personal EDC forever and any changes would be to make it comfortable and efficient to carry. The knife is marked on the main spear point blade," Parker Frost " on one side and " Rodgers, Wostenholm, England " on the other. The celluloid scales are in terrible shape and have a very badly stained Parker Frost shield. This is a 3 5/8 inch long 3 blade Gunboat style with a main blade spearpoint. and one semi pen/wharncliffe blade, and a spey blade. The blades are carbon steel and mostly deeply stained (definitely not a nice patina ).
The bolsters are silver colored and deeply stained near the celluloid scales. The knife is solid with snap to the blades and there is no wobble anywhere. I know pictures are a great help and this will be an addition in the future as I learn about digital photography.
Can anyone tell me what I have and more importantly how to proceed ( with replacing the scales ) so i can carry this treasure. Thanks in advance to everyone on this wonderful forum. This forum is the greatest thing since the use of steel in cutting instruments. Also I believe I can get the steel presentable but don't want to unnecessarily affect the value. My main goal is to make this usable knife.
