There is a Parker Frost stockman that has been catching my eye for the past year at a local flea market. Lots of Weidmanshells, Case, Queen etc all over the place. Many different old and new brands, designs, enough to drool over for a good while. But I keep coming back to this Parker Frost stockman. I forget the price, but it is over 50 bucks. It does have a box. Should I be leery of the Frost name attached to it? When I think of Frost, I think of space age design junk. But Parker is a well respected name brand.

I'm not really the expert here,'cause I get confused on all these knives & brands,dates/fuggeddaboudit ,sometimes, but it depends
I had a bone trapper once,it was a Parker Frost, but it was made by Schrade,it was pretty freakin' sweet.

I think he had them made up/contracted lots. But again,I'm not sure
But there are so many good knives out there made by other companies, other than what is stamped on them
Case Classic ...one of the finest production whittlers I've owned, made by Queen

Here is another example. This is marked Winchester,it is made by BlueGrass Cutlery, but Queen manufactured it for them

Parker was both an importer and manufacturer. Frost has always been an importer. Parker had a factory in Alabama that is now Bear & Sons. He also owned Case for a while until the his bankruptcy with Cutlery World. He also bought the Bull Dog brand from Charlie Dorton and brought them back to life. But he will probably be best known as a "Salesman". RIP Jim.
