i just got this off the bay i wanted a hawkbill blade and a traditional looking knife
this fit the bill i have read about Parker and his con ways but i still enjoy this knife
i got in pristine condition came with original box and looks like its never been used , was real stiff but some oil fixed it right up

I dont know much about this knife but i know the model is k86 , dont know the age of the knife , i know its pretty well made and has very nice smooth bone handles brass liners even a brass liner lock and etching of a red tail hawk on the blade that i like :)

any info or comments on the knife are welcome but please don't turn this into a bashing of Parker being a con man and what not , im interested in the knife not the maker

thank you ,

Tobin

Good stuff, possibly early 80's vintage. Japanese made knives imported for Parker/Eagle. I have a few and they are tighter than my US made traditional knives.

figured it was older than me haha , i was born in 88 seems to be in better shape than me too lol

thanks for the reply

I just bought a Parker Eagle IMAI K-540. (Sort of like an immitation Buck 110) Wanted to mess around and really look at the Parker knives as I know some people collect them. In their day, they were cheap knives made in Japan. Now Japan is "good". I assume the steel is 440-something.

I have a gorgeous lock back with a filed spring and nice wood, if I can I will post a pic. Not sure the steel, read possibly the AUS series but the feel I get from sharpening it is of a decently hard steel. It doesn't feel like Buck steel for instance, feels harder.

Great looking knife. Love the red hawk etching. Gives it a lot of character. Good catch. :)

Nice hawkbill! I have some old Parkers from the 80's and just got them out a couple days ago. They bring back a lot of good memories.
