I found a few nice older Bucks at the show. I'm especially proud of the 2004 110 with the Carbide edge and the 107, also found a 319 a 1972 110 with the inverted 3 line stamp, a 2 dot 112 and a couple of 424's and a Buck tactical.

Knife World May 2011 had an article about knives with carbide treated edges and highlighted this prototype. Apparently per Mark Z (KW editor) this knife was a prototype with perhaps less than 12 being made that Buck supplied for the article.

Thats a 319 Rancher and came out in 73. I've not heard of a 'carbide edge' Buck knife either. DM

Great haul on the Bucks! Especially good score on the 110!

Well I am quite a bit late to this party but i do seem to recall that the blade treatment was refered to as "Nano steel". I dont know what it means or how many we did though. It was an attempt at something new/better but aparantly our testing results told us it was a no go. You can also find the Nano steel treatment on 119's and fillet blades.

Well I'm going to have to disagree with this statement just a bit. The info I have has the 319 being made from 1975-'90 with the spiral awe and the smooth awe from '90-'92.
