Parkerize or satin finish a "chopping blade"?

I would appreciate your expert advice on the suitability of parkerizing as a finish for a chopping tool. I have a chance to buy a cool (somewhat tactical) tomahawk :D. The standard head finish is parkerized but I can have it raw (satin finished) if I want. I've done a search and found plenty of blade coating debates. To make my decision I really need a good understanding of the issues with both finish options. For example, I happen to like the appearance of parkerizing and it would certainly make the tool more subdued. On the other hand, I have no plans to enter combat anytime soon so blade flash is effectively a non-issue. Can I get some "pro/con" arguments for a parkerized vs plain finish on a chopping tool? I am wondering how long the parkerizing would last and is it easy to reapply? Thank you for your advice.

P.S.: This all assumes that my wife will let me take it outside and use it after she finds out the price ;).
