Parkerizing pro & con?

What are your thoughts on Parkerizing? We are considering this process for some of our knives but have heard some negative feedback on the effect on the cutting edge. Any thoughts or opinions? And who does this process?

Last question first,
Black Oxide is actually the correct name for what most people think of as "blueing" now days.
Very few people actually use blueing anymore as it is slower, and much more expensive to do. The results seem pretty similar until you see the two side by side, then the difference is obvious. Pretty much only a cosmetic difference, as they both offer pretty much identical protection, but a difference none the less.

Both bluing and Parkerizing offer little if anything in the way of corrosion protection, or abrasion protection.

Their sole rational use today is decorative.

Packerizing or bluing will come off on when cutting fruits (or anything acidic). I have not found an effective way to prevent this except don't cut fruits.

So if you had to choose between a parkerized or bead blast finish on high carbon steel which would you use?(anybody)

(anyone?...anyone?...Beuller?)

Parkerized - a little protection is better than asking for trouble.
