Recommendation? Parkerizing & using lacquer

I’m new here and did a good search for answers. Has anyone used clear semi-gloss lacquer after Parkerizing? I’m gonna try Lauer Custom Weaponry’s black dip pre-treatment & Manganese Phosphate Parkerizing Solution Liquid. I want a dark black finish with a slight sheen. Thx.

I’ve heard of people using clear gunkote over Damascus or other carbon steels if I remember right. As I recall it was talked about on another forum by Ed Caffrey.

I've used the clear and black gunkote on a damascus chess set I made. It works like Ed says.
