I know I will open a can of wurms here, but if you had a bif khuk such as a 30 Sirupati and someone attacks you with a 20 inch Ang Khola and you do not have time and space to jump out of the range and have to parry which part of your weapon would you use to parry?

a) The edge
b) The back of the blade
c) The flat
d) Avoiding balde contact altogether and try to chop the wrist of the attacker.

I would just pull out my SIG 229 and be done with him!;)

Really, I'm not sure, I'm no knife fighter!

I would avoid blade contact normally, and void the attack by replacement of my body away from the attack.

Otherwise, if forced to block, the non-hardened areas would be the best place to catch a blade. Spine, the curved area before the cho, etc...

I would not advise edge to edge contact, but, hey, when things are fast and furious...things get roughed up.

I believe that Pierre turned in a story on the forum where a military buddy of his actually cut through the knife of an attacker in Afghanistan with an HI Siru... Pierre? Can you confirm?

My special forces pal, Paul, is somewhat expert and has used his 15 inch AK in actual hand to hand. He uses the flat of the blade to parry.

Makes sense to use the flat. It's about shield-size on some of the khuks. Like the YCS! And the AK i have would probably stop most handgun rounds.

Anybody ever taken a shot at the side of a Khuk blade? I bet that counts as abuse.

Hi fellows, I've been out of town, LA, but I'm back to my favorite spot. I'm not very knowledgelable but if you noticed there is no guard or hilt on a khukuri. That leads me to believe the technique of the use of a khukuri is offensive. A side slap would protect the fingers. A circular motion, might be effective too. But a side step combined with numerous strikes up, cross, or down would use the khukuri to it's advantage. Control movement is the key I think. Side step the thrust and sever the leg tedon, no parry. etc etc etc

All the best:) Sam
