Rusty axe head I bought "no label"...I clean up old South Dakota farm axeheads and hang them for fun and splitting firewood. A partial very light stamp just appeared....My first thought is KEEN KUTTER but I cannot find that they ever stamped them this far into the cheek, and I see no evidence of the angular border. And that last letter is the clearest, looks like a "P" with a period after. 2nd question: Is this a Connecticut style head? 3rd question...The eye is slightly bulged out on one side..mystery axe 1 logo.jpgmystery axe 1.jpg...You Tube Buckin Billy Ray just pounded on one cold to even it out...danger of cracking it? Thanks for any help!

Im really leaning towards it being a Keen kutter as well, just because of the font. But ive looked around and i cant really find any that have/had that thin of a stamp. Ive found a few single bit knotklippers that have a thin font stamp but not in that style. As for the style it is a Michigan all day. And for fixing the flared eye, you can attempt to smack it closed, but there is always a risk of it cracking. And the possibility of losing the taper in the head is possible as well.

Would this be a possibility?

Wow that looks like the style font esp the E, and would explain the identical last 3 letter tops all being identical slants...Thanks, going to follow this lead!
