While I'm waiting for my primary fixed blade knife to be returned after its repair, knife by knife I have been using every example of my commercial fixed blade knives as outdoorsman's AND general kitchen knife, each knife used for one calendar month. I wanted to find out how efficiently I would be able to use each. One facet of my Gerber Yari II clip point knife knocked out much of my complacency. The Yari II is my only knife with the rear 40 percent of the blade serrated. Nearly every bit of work I wanted my monthly knife to do, the Yari II was easier to complete it than knives without partial serrations.
Can such partial blade serrations be done to knives having been manufactured without them? If this after-market serrating of blade can be done, who does this?
