Partially polished tang, anyone seen this before?

Noticed that my GoldenEye was a little "gritty" right before the lock engaged. Didn't affect performance at all, but things like that bug me. Getting it under a good light, could see that the last ~1/4" of the tang looked rough compared to the rest. Not sure how TriAd knives are made, but guessing the tang is polished at some point, but looks like they missed a bit on this one. So took it apart and hit it with my Dremel with a polishing wheel. Not perfect, but better than before. Anyone else experienced this?

I don't own that particular knife, but I have had the experience of very minor "flaws" or grind marks on a knife's surface causing issues. It's surprising how such a minor flaw, one that seems totally insignificant, could cause very real problems.

On a related note- I applaud you for fixing it yourself .
