Partially serrated PM2?

So I just stopped by a local knife store to see what they had/ what pricing was like, and they had a pair of first gen paramilitarys, which I thought was surprising, but then I noticed a Brown G10 PM2 with a partially serrated s35vn blade...
Which I wasn't aware spyderco ever made; it had great fit and finish, smooth action, but I find myself questioning the authenticity because I've never seen or heard of that combination.

So I'm looking for confirmation either way from the experts, is this a rare-to-find version of the Brown sprint run? Or a fake...

I have never heard of a serrated Pm2. There is a possibility that someone ground their own serrations, otherwise its fake. If it is modified then the price should be way down from normal. Without pics its impossible to say whether it is authentic or not.

There is a brown G10 exclusive with S35V steel, maybe someone had partial serrations ground into one?
(don't believe any PM2 was ever made with serrations, just the fully serrated PM1)

Ok that's what I thought, unfortunately I didn't take any pictures, but it was marked as a new knife, and the serrations were a good copy of spyderco's pattern, I think I'll just avoid that store...

I would most definitely go back to that store and ask them where they got it from. There's a chance you may know more than they do.

It didn't come that way so if it is real they were added. This is not that far fetched but it is sketchy that it is marked as new. Did you ask any questions?

No I didn't really get a chance, after pulling out the two knives I was interested in, the salesman went in to help other customers, since I wasn't going to buy it I didn't bother calling him back over as they were kinda busy

I've never seen that model, and partially serrated anything won't get much love on here either. Combo edge blades try to offer the best of both styles and end up being too little of each instead.

If this particular store is indeed a Spyderco dealer, I would try to find out if that is just a modified knife or knock-off, then notify Spyderco...

If the serrations like the top one - Veff serations- then it was done out side by a pro.

If it looks like OEM Spyder serrations.- Clone- or a hack job.

No they looked like spyderco serrations, based on the spyderco.com dealer locator they aren't official...

There is at least one place who does serrations very much like Spyderco.

Without a pic it's just speculation.

Why are Veff's serrations seen as done by a pro, but Spyderedge serrations may be a "hack job"?

i also have never seen a PM2 with serrations, only on the paramilitary's have i seen them, and there sort of rare at that.
