Parts of a French Pioneer Sword — yeoman

i am watching Forged in Fire, the episode French Pioneer Sword.

The smiths are required to make a sword with a hatchet tip, a yeoman, and a sawback. I have tried to research what the yeoman is on this particular blade with no success. Can anyone please explain that to me?

A yeoman is a type of sword, not a feature. It is basically a heavy short sword. Yoeman had shorter swords because they were primarily archers.

However, on FIF they can call anything what they want to. It doesn't have to be real, historic, or right on a reality show.
