Just got back from a week at the coast (Whitby - spiritual home of Captain Cook & Dracula).

Monday was my pa's birthday and I got chance to give him the refurbed Plumb hatchet (great grandpa's) and Morris of Dunsford axe ('new' purchase) I'd both sharpened and rehafted.

The Plumb got a pair of pants too!

He seemed pretty pleased. I know they will be getting some good use as he splits down and rough shapes green & seasoned wood for turning.

They look really good. And ready to go. Excellent patina on both.

I was in Whitby a few years back. I certainly knew about Captain Cook but not Dracula. Wonder if they went to the same school?

Cheers Frank. I need to track down a nice and cheeky Plumb like this.

Yeah, Bram Stoker based part of the book there, amongst other things.
