Passaround? Maybe?

Hey guys. Im not around here as often as I would like anymore. But I was thinking its about time for a passaround. Nuto was kind enough to supply us a nice blackjack brute. This time I was thinking a Blackjack magnum camp. I've always preferred the blackjack to the kabar and Camillus version. The balance and weight is completely different. But I was thinking we could put it to a vote. I wanted to pick a blade that's different and not a lot of beckerheads have tried. So I was thinking either blackjack magnum camp, Camillus bk6, or the Camillus bk9.

The bk6 would be a good pick not a lot of them around anymore. The cam bk9 would be a good pick because it's got a higher grind, heavier weight, and made out of thicker stock than the kabar.

I think I'd limit it to at the most 10 numbered beckerheads who are active here on the forum. Two weeks per person? Idk. I don't want to police people nor do I have the time so don't sign up if you can't keep up with the schedule. Obviously you would pay for shipping to the next person in line. I'm not going to make you ship it insured and signature. You can ship it whatever method you prefer but if something happens to it before it reaches the next person then you will be responsible.

Anyway if any of you guys are interested let me know and cast a vote for which blade you would want.

I just picked up a Blackjack magnum camp last week. The KA-BAR BK5 is one of my favorite knifes but the Blackjack is "Special". I can't bring myself to putting it in the safe so I keep it in my EDC Backpack, I just feel better with it close by.
If you haven't held one you don't know what you are missing. But that my be a good thing, they are not easy to find and it may keep you up at night searching for one of your own.

Damn knifejunkie1928 knifejunkie1928 lol You got me:rolleyes:

Good on you Junkie spread the love of Beckers No matter what the Heads Pick give me a Heads up if the heads are more than you can bare, as I have whichever they choose, so we can double down on the amount of guys and or gals so they can get some early Beckers to put through the paces, Hope All good wid U and Yours

I meant to comment on this when you initially posted this thread, knifejunkie1928 knifejunkie1928 , but then I got busy (as I am wont to do) and I forgot about it.

I think a passaround is a great idea, especially in light of giving some folks the opportunity to handle some of the earlier manifestations of some popular Beckers. I am not sure when you are planning to get the ball rolling but it might be a good idea to wait until spring when more folks might be inclined to get outside and give the blades a go (that is, if your intent is for the knives to get used rather than fondled).

Any of the blades you have listed would definitely be fun to check out but I think I would vote for the Magnum Camp or the BK6 (if my vote matters at all). I use my current 5 in the kitchen every day and I think it would be nice to check out the Blackjack version, simply based on your description of it. The BK6 would certainly be interesting to handle, as I am sure there are more than a few of us who have never seen one in person.

I will certainly look forward to hearing everyone's thoughts once this gets rolling.

Your right spring may be the right time to do this. I was hoping for a bit more interest but winter is a very busy time for everyone.

haha you guys can fondle them all you want, but the intent is to beat them like an ugly step child! Im confident these blades can handle hard use.

knifejunkie1928 knifejunkie1928 I wonder how many members never handled a knife that I personally just take for granted. The wonderful BK4 I would offer up one of mine for a pass around. But I would like to try an original Machax

Haha if nuto wants to offer up one of his Cincinnati's or a warrior that's fine. I love mine too much to send it away.
